Day 56: Sun 20 Aug 23 - Injune to Roma

Sun 20 Aug 23 - Injune to Roma (Towed 94km)

Weather: 1 Deg feeling like -1 Deg at Injune, sunny and clear reaching 22 Deg in Roma with a light cool breeze all day

It was a very quiet and cold night in Injune, and it was nice waking to the sound of birds singing outside, but that was quickly drowned out by the sound of the diesel heater which we turned on to warm the inside of the van. After venturing outside, I went for a brisk walk into and around town, and back around the racecourse. After breakfast, we left at 8.45, covering the 94km to Roma in short time. Because we can’t check in before 12pm, we went straight to Bakearoma for coffee and a bacon and egg roll, not because I was hungry, but because I felt like having one, and it was very enjoyable. After mornos' we decided to try and check in to the Roma Gun Club Caravan Park early, and we were set up by 12pm. We stayed here last year, and its a great stoppover. Most of the park is now sealed with bitumen, so there is much less annoying dust. The sites are also generous in size, but the sites facing the road at the front where they have hedging along the fenceline makes it tight for reversing the van into the site around a small bottle tree. It wasn't too much drama, but required a little more effort. I was feeling very average yesterday and today, so after we were settled I had a snooze. Feeling a little more refreshed after, I got the motivation to get on the bike for a ride around town. This is our 3rd time to Roma, so we've seen everything that Roma has to offer, but I didn't expect the temporary Sculptures Out Back Exhibition located at the Sculpture Park near the Big Rig. There is some amazing artwork on display, and most was available to purchase, but at an amazing price.

Back to the van for dinner, then we watched the Womens World Cup Final.
